Account Manager

The account manager is a central cog in our business – not only interfacing with clients – but developing quality client services with the rest of the team. Job Responsibilities include having fun doing the following: 

 

Strategy & Programming 

  • Maintain existing portfolio of business and bring new ideas to existing clients,
  • Support client relations,
  • Provide stellar customer service, 
  • Develop and execute PR strategies and tactics, 
  • Target stakeholders through research, planning, implementation and evaluation
  • Identify opportunities to build clients’ visibility in traditional and new media 
  • Develop creative messaging ideas that align with client goals and business objectives
  • Make strong recommendations

 

Client Services

  • Write plans
  • Maintain account and team budgets, organize associated expenses, and administer each assigned account 
  • Develop creative campaigns as part of a team
  • Oversee deliverables produced by team members
  • Generate fresh, new ideas for clients and agency
  • Represent companies and their brands to the media and publics
  • Promote and publicize businesses and brands
  • Recommend media purchase plans with partner media buyer

 

New Business

  • Participate in community events and activities
  • Identify and attract new prospects
  • Write proposals
  • Present new business opportunities 

 

Job Requirements include enthusiasm, a positive attitude, a BA or BS in Communications or Marketing, Journalism or business related field. Five years of PR, communication or marketing experience required. Agency background preferred. Excellent personal communication skills and experience in delivering effective communication in written, verbal and other forms. Must have a proven track record of handling multiple projects with challenging deadlines.  Must be able to work independently and within a team environment. 

Client Accounts Supported: Mostly in Ohio in the Greater Springfield area, accounts include United Senior Services, Rotary Gourmet Food Truck Competition, KB&P, Glo Girls, TAC, Sheehan Brothers Vending, City of Springfield, ROOST Real Estate, Global Impact STEM Academy, Women’s Partnership Funds, various branding and research projects. 

Skills Required: High proficiency in communication principles; Google Suite and/or Microsoft Office, working knowledge of Creative Suite software; Proficiency with social media tools; understanding of basic layout and design principles; online and academic research, project management. 

Travel Requirements: Travel required for meetings. Many meetings can be managed virtually via Zoom. Reliable transportation is required. Mileage reimbursed at $0.50/mile or the current federal rate. Occasional travel out of state with advance notice for professional development or communication training programs. 

Work Hours: Full-time, salaried. Employee should set and adhere to his or her own regular schedule and will have assignments outside of regular business hours. This is a deadline-oriented job and requires some work on evenings and weekends. 

Salary and Benefits. Salary commensurate with experience. Salary range $60,000-$75,000 plus commission earning potential. Salary paid twice monthly. Two weeks of vacation/PTO are available with advanced scheduling. 401(k) and profit sharing available the Jan. 1 or July 1 after 6 months of continuous employment.
